One of my few political songs. It's about the frustration of being powerless to leadership, a leadership that is threatening the future of us, our fellow animalia, and our critical plantae.
Musically it draws some strong inspiration from 311, Metallica, and a tiny bit of Beck.
lyrics
In Manhattan apartment, guitar stowed away
I lay here, torn, thinking about better days
I never paid much mind to politics
But I ain't gonna put up with a communist animal
Feel our fear
fear our freedom
Enter love
Exit hate
As they look at us up from above
I wonder what they’re thinking, what we’re made of
We silence our science, facts aren't facts, right?
Like the animals, who can’t defend from the dictate
Rich drink cocktails over a poison ocean
Humanity never had a chance anyway
I missed the golden years from from well before my time
I was born too late and now I won't grow old
...thanks to you
Sealed our fate
Ya sign your bills
With Intent to kill
Pollution In every which way
Breathe in and hope you breathe out
Feel our fear
fear our freedom
How long we endure?
How long will I breathe?
